Terms

Last updated 10 September 2026

This document is a draft, and payments are closed.

Kompetoo cannot take payment until the seller details and tax treatment below are settled, and the checkout route refuses to open a payment session while that is true. Nothing on this page should be relied on as a contract yet.

Kompetoo monitors publicly available web pages belonging to companies you nominate, and sends you a written briefing about what changed. These terms cover the subscription you buy to receive it. There is no free tier.

Who you are contracting with

TODO — registered company name, TODO — registered address, TODO — country. Questions, cancellations, refunds and disputes: [email protected].

The three details above are not settled yet, which is what the notice at the top of this page is about. Until they are, no payment can be taken: the checkout refuses to open a payment session, and it refuses in code rather than by anybody remembering to switch it off.

What you are buying

A monthly subscription, in one of two depths, priced per competitor you monitor. You choose how many competitors you are paying for when you subscribe, and you can change that number afterwards.

Your own website is monitored on both plans and is never counted as one of the competitors you pay for. Findings are measured against it, which is why it is included rather than sold.

Anything we reasoned rather than observed is labelled as our inference wherever it appears. On Simple that layer is not delivered, and where it would have been the briefing says so rather than leaving a gap you cannot see. Coverage — what we checked, what had not moved, and what we could not read — is delivered in full on both plans. We do not treat “we could not check this” as something to charge for.

The trial, and when you are first charged

Every subscription starts with a 14-day free trial. We take card details when you subscribe, because monitoring starts immediately and the subscription has to be able to continue without interrupting it, and we charge nothing during the trial. If you cancel before the trial ends you are not charged at all.

After the trial the subscription renews monthly until you cancel. Each renewal charges the plan price multiplied by the number of competitors you are paying for on the day it renews.

Changing plan or the number of competitors

Both can be changed at any time, from your settings or through the billing portal. Stripe prorates the difference: moving up charges you the balance for the rest of the current month, and moving down credits it. Access changes when the change is confirmed back to us, not when you click.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time, without contacting us, from the billing portal. New briefings stop. Briefings that were already produced and delivered stay readable in your account: you paid for them, they are immutable once published, and withdrawing them would be taking back something already delivered.

Refunds

You can ask for a full refund of any charge within 30 days of it, for any reason, by emailing us. You do not need to justify it. Beyond that window, if we stop delivering briefings, ask and we will refund you.

If a payment fails

We do not cut your access off on a first failed charge. Stripe retries for a period, we email you, and your briefings continue meanwhile. If the retries are exhausted the subscription ends and new briefings stop — and, as above, what was already delivered stays readable.

Tax

TODO — state whether prices include VAT/sales tax and who accounts for it.

This is a beta, and what that means

Some of the work behind each briefing is done by hand. Findings are reviewed by a person before they reach you. We may get things wrong, and when we do we will correct the report and tell you what changed rather than quietly editing it.

We do not promise a particular number of findings, because inventing one to hit a quota would defeat the point. A week in which nothing meaningful moved is a legitimate result and will be reported as such.

What we will not do

Acceptable use

Nominate companies you have a legitimate business interest in observing. Do not use Kompetoo to monitor private individuals, and do not redistribute briefings as your own product.

Ending it

You can stop at any time and ask us to delete your account. We will remove your business context, watchlist and reports. Records of payments are kept where the law requires.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that affects what you are paying for, we will email you before it takes effect. The version you agreed to is recorded against your subscription when you start it, so which document applies to you does not depend on what this page says today.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of TODO — country.
